We've had a few Birthdays Around Here!

Brooke turned 12 a couple of weeks ago! She had a sleep over with a few of her friends. We also had cake and ice cream with the fam the next day!

She enjoyed all of her gifts which consisted of clothes shoes and more clothes and shoes!

Brooke with her good friend Paige. The night of her sleep over the girls danced all night long. I hoped to post the video because they choreographed a great dance but I am having a little trouble I'll keep working on it.

INFERNO!!! Call the fire dept. Look at all those candles Dustin had a Birthday the week after Brooke's! He was able to get them all out at once!! The Lungs still work!

We have had a great couple of week's celebrating Birthdays!

So Happy to Hear from So Many of You!

Thanks for letting me know I'm not in this alone!!! I knew you would all get a good laugh from that! It has been a crazy day as usual, but a great one! Can I just tell you I have great kids!!Even though life gets so busy and we run and run and run around here, they really make me smile and fill my heart with joy! The greatest sounds around here lately have been to hear Ethan practicing the piano and Brooke her flute-- they actually play music!! I am so grateful for the people in our lives who share their talent with my children and are helping them develop a love for music.
Today Brooke was awarded student of the month for her grade, which is a pretty big deal. All the teachers vote and she was chosen. She was really excited and all of her friends were so excited for her. She is such a beautiful, intelligent girl! I find myself getting very melancholy as her 12th Birthday approaches this weekend. I know time is just going to fly! I am trying to cherish every moment even the crazy ones!

It has been a while!

Okay life should not be this busy! Sometimes I feel like I have a hundred things to do and don't feel like I get any of them done!! But I received and email from a friend the other day that may help me to understand my problem. I think I have C.A.A.D.D. - Child Activated Attention Deficit Disorder apparently it manifest itself something like this:
You decided to do the laundry, but on your way to the laundry room you notice Cheerios on the floor that need to be swept up so you go get he broom, on your way to get he broom you notice your car keys are on the floor so you think I better put these away you head to your purse and realize..... I know all Mom's get the idea! LOL
Well I have a severe case of C.A.A.D.D.
This is just about how Friday went for me to the max. I spent several hours trying to update my blog which did not go well. A minimum of 6 times I tried to change my background and got completely kicked of the Internet. I gave up!!
Thought I had better get some laundry done, but before I could get a load in, it was time for Brooke to go to dance, laundry had to wait, got back -maybe I'll try my blog again. I feel bad, get kicked off twice more, I give up again!!!
Time to pickup boys from a party, better shower first since it is late afternoon, get the boys, better run to the store.Try the blog one more time, No luck!! No Laundry done, and it's time to get dinner ready!!
I think I'm a classic case, what did I accomplish all day? My anecdote this weekend, finish a good book Sunday and try again later. It kinda worked today, but I still had some trouble I lost my blog list and got kicked off only once. I tried to remember everyone's blog address but there are a few of you I could not remember if you see you are missing could you please leave a comment and your address. It will be great to hear from you!

Counter tops are In!!!

My Christmas present came earlier this year! Our counter tops were installed yesterday and they are a thing of beauty!! The plywood we had was a step up from the folding table that precariously balanced on the island for weeks but the granite was worth waiting for. It looks beautiful and we are so happy with the final result. Our work is not done but we are closer . My kitchen should be officially up and running tomorrow!!! My family should be overjoyed that I will finally be able to cook again. We have eaten so much processed food I swear I have extended our lives by at least two years each. We have enough preservatives in us to last a while. I'm lucky I haven't gained 50 pounds!!!

Well I hope to be able to post more often now that most of the major construction is done around here! Love you all and hope as you get ready for the Holidays that the Spirit of Christmas fills your homes!

Two Weeks

A lot of things can happen in two weeks. All the leaves can fall off the trees. I could lose five pounds if I try really hard!!! We could drive to New York and back to Idaho. I could go on a fabulous vacation. We moved in a two week period. I can try to break a bad habit.I could have a kitchen!!! But two weeks is the minimum I will have to wait for a really bad haircut to start to grow out! As if things haven't been chaotic enough around here, I got sheared this week. I was going for a cute short stack and ended up with no hair on the back of my head. It is shaved shorter than Dustin's and long in the front. I was going for Kate's look from Jon and Kate plus 8 but I did not explain myself very well. Natalee I miss you more than ever this week! So now I hope two weeks will be time enough for some hair to grow! All in stride I guess! Hope you are all doing well hope to hear from you soon!!

Sort of in our House

Well we officially moved in a couple of weeks ago, but the house is still a work in progress as I imagine it will be for some time. We are still in many boxes and living basically out of one room. Jason described it best when He said it reminded him of a hotel room. No Kitchen, just a microwave on top of a folding table, toaster oven next to it, paper plates and plastic utensils. Next to that you will find our dining room table, our living room set and the TV. It's a big room thank goodness!! Our bedrooms are set up and we can all at least sleep in our own rooms. I'll post a few pics of the house like this as soon as I get my computer up and running again. Thanks to Jim and Talona for letting me use there computer for the afternoon!
Dustin has done so much work. This last week He finished laying hardwood flooring and it looks great! With help from His dad, Colton and Jason the job got done! We are now waiting for the Kitchen. It should be anytime now! We are so looking forward to it. My hope is that I will be able to cook again by Thanksgiving. Right now if I can't microwave it we don't eat it, unless Grandma has mercy on us and invites us for dinner.
Dustin and I went out to dinner the other night and the conversation went something like this... "You know Chris I have to say you are taking this remarkably well."
"What do you mean?"
" The house situation"
"Why do you say that?"
" Well usually when things are out of place you kind of lose it, I thought things would be worse. You are just doing really well."
All I could do was laugh so apparently I'm taking things in stride and maybe I'm starting to mellow out. Everything doesn't have it's place right now and we are still 0kay. I guess it all comes down to Perspective, I've realized life is good and I don't need to sweat the small stuff. I have a great family and they are all happy and healthy. We truly are blessed.
